Youth swim lessons will build confidence in your child to explore and develop skills and teach water safety. Lessons will be held in the Village of Port Edwards outdoor pool. Sign up for swim lessons at the Port Edwards YMCA.
Swim lesson levels and times:
EELS: In this level, swimmers will learn to float, jump in, flutter kick and begin to work on basic strokes. Approximate age to begin: 4 - 5 years old.
Tuesday/Thursday @ 5:30 - 6:15pm
POLLIWOG/GUPPY: Polliwog swimmers begin to work on front/back glide, flutter kick, rhythmic breathing and front/back crawl. Guppies will work on perfecting the front crawl and learn elementary backstroke, dives, begin to tread water and do deep water bobs.
Tuesday/Thursday @ 5:30 - 6:15pm or Tuesday/Thursday @ 6:30 - 7:15pm
MINNOW/FISH: Minnow swimmers continue work on front/back crawl. Beginning work on endurance, learning breaststroke and turns are emphasized. Fish swimmers learn sidestroke, dolphin kick and work more on turns. This level emphasizes endurance and stroke techniques.

Session #1: June 15 - July 8, 2010 Session #2: July 20 - August 12, 2010
Port Edwards residents have priority registration. Session #1 now thru June 8 and for Session #2 now thru July 13. Non-resident registration dates for Session #1 are June 1 - June 8 and for Session #2 June 28 - July 13. Note: A resident can register at any time, however, "priority" is given before the non-resident registration date.
