What is Silver Sneakers? Silver Sneakers offers an innovative blend of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and socially oriented programming that allows older adults to take greater control of their health. It's a fitness program offered in partnership with Humana and AARP and other select insurance plans at no additional cost to Medicare-elligible members. Each member gets a free membership at the South Wood County YMCA.

We offer Silver Sneakers classes along with other classes, swimming pool, Wellness Center, saunas, whirlpool and more. The Silver Sneakers classes offer multi-level equipment based strength and conditioning exercises designed for Medicare-eligible individuals. The classes are easy on your joints and appropraite for individuals who exercise regularly as well as those new to exercise or who may not have exercised in years. The exercises are designed to improve your strength, flexibility and the ability to perform functional activities such as getting out of your car or lifting your grandchildren!
