It's an insanity style workout fused with Butts & Guts. A fat burning cardio and muscle toning class. A combo that delivers results for all fitness levels.

A total body, low impact "burn." Strengthen, tone, shape and condition your body without extreme aerobics or dancing. Challenge yourself using the stability ball, weights, and some floor work. This class is focusing on arms, abs, butts, and thighs.

CARDIO KICKBOXING (4)

Performing the kicks and punches with appropriate power and precision will help to strengthen the lower body as well as the upper body. Cardio kickboxing involves a lot of jumping, twists and turns, ensuring that the whole body is put through a rigorous workout. Besides burning calories, it also increases muscle definition.

Calling all cycling enthusiasts! This class offers all the challenges of a road race set to great music and motivating drills throughout the class. It will keep you sweating from beginning to end.

This yoga class is ideal for anyone new to yoga and interested in its benefits. This Yoga class will help you build strength, increase flexibility and find focus through deep breathing. Do not wear perfume. Bring a yoga mat and props if you have them.

Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That is exactly what this class is all about. The Silver Sneakers class offers multi-level equipment based strength and conditioning exercises designed for active older adult members. The class is easy on your joints and appropriate for individuals who exercise regularly as well as those new to exercise or who may not have exercised in years. The exercises are designed to improve your strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Plus, you will enjoy the great music and camaraderie of your fellow participants. In addition, any Y member can participate in these programs regardless of age or membership type, guaranteeing you the opportunity to make new friends.

This class mixes intervals of toning with weights and bands, complemented with segments of cardio and abdominal work to give you multiple options for the beginner to the experienced exerciser so you can choose what is right for you.

This new workout harnesses the way your body naturally moves to improve your athletic performance. A complete system using your body for suspension training to build a strong core, strength, flexibility and endurance. You will work in all three planes of motion allowing you to strengthen muscles and joints as a group avoiding muscular imbalances making the moves more effective, realistic and challenging. You can take your performance to the next level or choose the modified movements for beginners and/or members with limitations or restrictions. Class limited to 8 participants.

 

 
Wellness Center

Both locations are equipped with state-of-the-art Wellness Centers. It's a great place for young (11 and older) and young-at-heart to begin practicing a healthy lifestyle. Our Wellness Centers are equipped with the latest cardiovascular and strength training equipment to meet your fitness goals. Both Wellness Centers have an inviting atmosphere, are spaced appropriately and have good lighting.

WELLNESS CENTER ORIENTATIONS
The Wellness Centers are open to members age 11 and older who have completed the mandatory orientation. We offer several different orientation times. A Wellness Center orientation is free and led by knowledgeable staff who will teach you how to use the equipment correctly and safely. Our Youth Wellness Center orientation entails a comprehensive overview of how all of our cardiovascular equipment works, as well as safe and proper use of all equipment. We believe that the more you know about the Y fitness centers, the more likely you are to enjoy your exercise experience.

NEW! STAY FIT TOGETHER
The YMCA Youth Fitness Guidelines promote a safe and positive environment for all members. Youth ages 11 and older are now able to use the Wellness Center anytime using the following guidelines:

  • Youth ages 11-12 can use the cardiovascular equipment and selectorized strength training equipment (no free weights). Only if accompained by a parent/guardian, and after completing a Youth orientation, signing a consent form and wearing a colored wristband.
  • Youth ages 13-14 can use the entire Wellness Center anytime only after completing a Youth oreintation and wearing a colored wristband.

Personal Training

A results-driven one-on-one training program
Through one-on-one instruction our certified personal trainers will design an individual program structured just for you! Perfect for a beginner or advanced exerciser looking to move to the next level.  Your Y personal trainer will work with you providing individualized programming, coaching and motivation toward your success.

  • Proper techniques and instruction to avoid injuries
  • Learn innovative training techniques to enhance health, fitness and prevent exercise monotony
  • Receive positive encouragement and accountability

Getting started is easy:
1.  Stop by our Member Services desk to obtain a personal training questionnaire.
2.  Complete the questionnaire when you purchase your package and return it to the Member       Services desk.
3.  One of our certified personal trainers will contact you to schedule an initial consultation.  Our personal trainers can meet you almost any time during Y operating hours.

Massage at the South Wood County YMCA
