Strong Kids

At SWC YMCA, one of our most important goals has always been to enrich the lives of everyone in our community. Walk into any Y program site or facility and you will see people of all ages, races, and incomes, and you'll never know who may have received help to be there.  Each year, the Y provides financial assistance to children, adults, and families who cannot afford to participate in the YMCA, its programs, and services.  These funds are generated by a combination of our income and donations across South Wood County, from generous businesses, foundations and individuals just like you.

Gifts to our annual campaign make a huge difference to the YMCA.  Gifts provide needed scholarships for children, families, and individuals.  Kids are given the opportunity to go to camp, enroll in flag football or basketball and receive swimming lessons, for example. Families are given assistance to cope with the cost of before/after school care or ensure a membership, for example.  In addition, the Y is able to provide a single parent or military family with a membership, just to name a few.

It is the Y's commitment to our communities that no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
